Downtown Sioux Falls is gearing up for another exiting summer with our Street Musician Program. Every Friday and Saturday during the months of June, July, and August Downtown Sioux Falls coordinates musicians to play outside from 7:00 – 9:00pm. We would like to extend our invitation to you and encourage you to submit an application to our office to participate in this program.

Spain has the Running of the Bulls, and Sioux Falls has the Running of the Dollz!

The Sioux Falls Roller Dollz close their fourth season on May 8th. To celebrate, they invite you to join them in the ‘RUNNING OF THE DOLLZ’. This event features the Dollz in full protective gear as they skate through downtown chasing runners. The runners are made up of family, friends and fans of the Roller Dollz. Come watch this fun exhibition and learn more about the team!

Registration for the YWCA Summer Care program starts Monday, March 1. The summer program is packed with fun, creative, adventurous activities, field trips and classes for school-age youth from 6am - 6 pm, Monday through Friday.

An exciting schedule consisting of the following elements is planned:

Art classes
Cooking
Math and Science
Physical Fitness
Swimming - indoor and outdoor
Weekly Field Trips

WHO: All children who have completed kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to join us for the summer.

What: We have created a summer day camp program that delivers just what kids are looking for: hands-on learning opportunities and unique experiences.

WHEN: The program runs for 13 consecutive weeks from May 19 through August 16. Sioux Falls public schools are scheduled to begin on August 17th. Sign Up Today! Availability is limited and awarded on a first come basis!

WHERE: We offer the programs at two locations - choose a YWCA nearest to your home or office.

HOURS: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm

Monday through Friday

COST:

$30 enrollment fee
$45 enrollment fee for multiple children in family
4 & 5 days/week: $110/week (includes 5 credit days throughout the summer)
3 days/week: $82.00/week

Part time spots are limited. We also offer a scholarship rate based on family size and income. Multiple child discounts are available.

OUR PROGRAM: Every day the summer program is packed with fun things to do and see. We will swim in our pool (at the downtown YWCA) and utilize the Sioux Falls public pools as well. If requested, we will be glad to arrange weekly swimming lessons. There will be daily activities in recreational sports and games, art, math & science, computer, reading, gardening, Wednesday club days and cooking. Participants will also enjoy weekly field trips to local businesses and attractions throughout the area. Children are grouped with friends their own age, with age-appropriate activity. Children rotate with their classmates throughout the day.

Safari Adventures! Let the culture awareness begin! Summer offers the unique opportunity to learn about Africa and South America. There will be cooking, special quests, language, corresponding, geography and more...

Meals and Snacks: Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided to participants each day at no additional charge.
